District 82 State Representative Third-Place Finisher Dr. Raymond Delaney Endorses Front-runner Eddie Connick in Runoff
Dr. Raymond Delaney Jr., who finished with an impressive 25% of the vote in the March 20th State Representative District 82 primary election, today endorsed first-place finisher Edwin “Eddie” Connick.
In a post to his campaign supporters, Delaney wrote, “I’m proud to endorse Eddie Connick to be the next State Representative of District 82. Eddie thinks our government should better serve us, and I share that sentiment. With a career serving the district and a slew of endorsements, I believe he is the best candidate to represent the entire district, and I am excited to work to help get him elected. There will be a lot of work to do this legislative session. Eddie Connick has what it takes to get the job done. He’s proven that throughout his career in the medical service industry, and he’ll prove it as our representative in Baton Rouge. Thank you again for all your support this election. Let’s send Eddie to Baton Rouge.”
Said Connick, “I am honored and pleased to have Dr. Delaney’s support and encouragement. He has a very loyal following from his years of working inside the district, and I appreciate his trust and confidence. Both my opponent and I requested his support. I am especially proud to have his endorsement because he was able to compare our platforms and determine that my ideas and positions would better meet the needs of the district.”
Connick led handily in the March 20th primary election with 40%. The Delaney endorsement will count as a big boost to the Connick campaign with 20 days until the election. Connick is a Republican.
